One of the most popular monuments of Yerevan is a monument to David of Sasun, which was established in 1959 on the station square. This unique stone creation is the work of the famous sculptor Ervand Kochar, who portrayed the hero on his heroic horse in readiness to attack with a sword. David of Sasus is the hero of the medieval Armenian epic. About four years ago, the epic was included in the UNESCO list of intangible heritage.
