Vanadzor Drama Theatre

The drama theater of Vanadzor, which has a history of almost a century, has always occupied its unique place in the cultural life of both Lori marz and the third city of the republic, becoming the main platform for self-expression of theater lovers, professional actors and directors.
Vanadzor Theater is the largest theater structure of Lori region, the first stage, if not the only, then the exclusive expression and functional environment of a professional. It is also the main environment for the theater-loving public, the main opportunity to see performing arts.
The theater's schedule is supplemented every year with performances of the best works of Armenian and world literature, which delight the art lovers of Lori and the republic.
Every year, the theater participates in festivals of national and international importance, and tours both in other communities of Armenia and abroad. In 2019, we participated in a festival in Kazakhstan /ABISH ALEMI/, in 2023 we performed in Tbilisi, Moscow /SOLO festival/, receiving high praise from the Georgian, Armenian, and Russian audiences.
Well-known directors perform in the theater and we also give the opportunity to talented young people to perform in our theater. For years, the artistic director of the Vanadzor Theater was the legendary Vahe Shahverdyan,  the author of over 100 productions. He created a theater by himself and formed an audience, and it is no coincidence that the audience of Vanadzor always has high artistic expectations from each performance. Today, the high-value productions of Shahverdyan still remain in the repertoire.
Currently, the main director of the theater is a young, gifted personality with an interesting handwriting, Sargis Manukyan.
