This monastic complex is dedicated to the Armenian Catholicos St. Grigor and dates back to 10-13 centuries. The monastery has two churches, a bell-tower, chapel and Mamikonyan’s family cemetery. Due to the white tint of the stone, the monastery was also called White. Representatives of the Mamikonian dynasty studied here.
